UX Software Lead/DesignOps Specialist

At least 3 days per week on-site (Veldhoven)

Introduction to ASML

Founded in 1984, ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits (‘chips’). The IT division supports information management, infrastructure, and key business processes across ASML. The IT infrastructure, hardware and applications are mission critical for ASML’s internal and external activities.

User Experience

Our User Experience (UX) competence members create (with their product teams) user-facing solutions that enable ASML employees to work more efficiently and effectively, that are quickly adopted and continuously used, and that provide a consistent user experience across applications, devices, and locations. Our work concerns custom applications as well as adaptations to standard software. The software ranges from web applications used in the ASML offices, to mobile applications used in our factories, to wearable applications used in our customers’ cleanrooms.

Job Mission

This position is part of the IT UX Specialist Team, which can be seen as a ‘DesignOps’ team, because it consists of people who lead the competence, who maintain the ASML Design System, who support product teams with UX analytics & feedback implementations, and who manage all the UX software that is essential for UX competence members from all across the company to do their jobs well.

Your job will be to maintain those SaaS software applications that are used by the members of the UX competence. As such, you will make sure that they have the right tools to do their jobs, that these tools are properly maintained in terms of e.g., licenses, security, privacy, and usage guidelines. The main applications that are currently in scope are: Figma, Zeroheight, Maze, Mouseflow, Qualtrics, Font Awesome, and Adobe Analytics. You will also be involved in the selection and acquisition of new software.

This work used to be done by the Competence Lead, but due to the growth of the competence, we would like to turn this into a separate full-time job. We are looking for a smart, accurate, and motivated person. The Competence Lead will supervise and train you until you can execute the tasks with confidence.

Main Activities

  • Process user access requests. Accept/reject/discuss based on e.g., membership status, motivation, number of licenses available. Also clean up access and licenses after people change jobs.
  • Keep track of license availability and engage with License Management and Procurement, on time, to ensure we have just enough availability to cover new requests. Forecast future license needs and write simple business case to request budget one year ahead.
  • Ensure compliance with ASML’s security regulations, e.g., by requesting the implementation of SSO, separating projects and files in limited-access workspaces, writing guidelines about how to share data with external people from suppliers/partners.
  • Ensure compliance with ASML’s privacy regulations, e.g., by cleaning up unused personal information, and checking if competence members and others have implemented our guidelines correctly in their projects/products. Sometimes, you need to collaborate with Legal, to ensure there is a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and DPA (Data Processing Agreement).
  • Support the selection (with help from UX competence members) and acquisition (with help from IT License Management and Procurement) of new UX software. This includes obtaining approval from the IT Architecture Board and making sure the software is registered in our systems, e.g., ServiceNow and ARIS.
  • Support our users, collect questions to be forwarded to the suppliers’ support teams, communicate important changes to users and request feedback from them to make sure our suite of UX software continues to make them effective and efficient in their jobs.
  • Maintain the relations with the account managers of the software suppliers, to stay aware of product changes and provide feedback on how we use the software at ASML
