Senior Data & Cloud Engineer (GCP)

You will take ownership across data engineering and cloud/platform engineering and build scalable, production-grade solutions in a GCP environment, with a strong focus on real-time and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data and cloud solutions on GCP
• Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines
• Work with real-time and event-driven architectures
• Design, implement and operate Apache Kafka platforms and streaming solutions
• Develop production-grade solutions using technologies such as Scala, Java, Pub/Sub, Dataflow and Spark Streaming
• Work with stateful streaming and production streaming pipelines
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Implement and maintain CI/CD, preferably using GitHub Actions
• Contribute to cloud architecture, automation and DevOps practices
• Participate in technical design reviews and architectural decisions
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Product Teams and other technical stakeholders

Must-have

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Data, Cloud or Platform Engineering
• Recent, hands-on production experience with GCP
• Experience working in a highly industrialized cloud environment
• Strong experience with Terraform, CI/CD and preferably GitHub Actions
• Proven production experience with Kafka and/or other real-time streaming technologies
• Experience with Scala and/or Java
• Experience with technologies such as Pub/Sub, Dataflow and Spark Streaming
• Experience with stateful streaming / event-driven architectures
• Strong cloud architecture, automation and DevOps skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Fluent English for daily collaboration

• BigQuery
• GKE / Kubernetes
• Airflow / Composer
• Flink / Kafka Streams
• Observability and monitoring

Profiles we prefer to avoid

• Azure / AWS-only profiles without strong recent GCP experience
• Batch-only Data Engineers without production streaming experience
• Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer profiles where production data/cloud engineering is not the primary focus
