Job Description
As an IT Engineer, you will join the API Mavericks team at ABN AMRO. The team focuses on developer enablement by providing clear API standards, reusable integration components, and easy-to-use tooling that enables internal and external developers to rapidly build and manage high-quality APIs.
Within the team, you will play a key role in designing and building integration platforms in line with architectural standards and development guidelines. Together with your colleagues, you will design and develop internal data models that support integration capabilities across the organization.
You will design, develop, test, version, and monitor APIs to deliver reliable and high-performing integrations. In addition, you will work across the full software development lifecycle, building and maintaining applications.
Beyond development, you will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of Agentic AI Implementation standards and guidelines within the bank. As MCP is the first Agentic AI integration pattern being implemented, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving its success.
Required Skills and Experience
Must-haves
- Proven hands-on experience implementing MCP and APIs within an Agentic Integration environment in a corporate setting, applying enterprise standards, governance, and integration best practices.
- Strong experience with Java 17 (or higher), including designing, building, and maintaining scalable services.
- Extensive experience in API Design and hands-on API development using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure services, including App Services, Functions, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling, including setting up, optimizing, and maintaining end-to-end deployment workflows.
- Strong understanding of data models and system integration patterns, with the ability to design robust and scalable integrations.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI-assisted software development, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools.
