Data Engineer

You are passionate about data, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and other engineers to deliver robust data platforms and pipelines.

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, and have at least five years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. You are a proactive and collaborative team player who takes ownership, values feedback, and continuously looks for opportunities to improve data quality, processes, and architecture.

What you'll bring

You possess many of the following skills and qualifications:

• Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Solid knowledge of data modelling principles, including dimensional modelling, star schemas, and snowflake schemas.
• Hands-on experience with Azure-based data platforms and services for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and storage.
• Experience with Power BI datasets, Power Query, and DAX to support reporting and analytics solutions.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Programming experience with Python and YAML.
• Experience with Databricks and Visual Studio Code.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices, version control, and DevOps principles for data engineering.
• A strong understanding of data quality, governance, security, and performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and process-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience with the following is considered an advantage:

• Microsoft Fabric.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Azure DevOps and Git-based development workflows.
• Streaming or real-time data processing.
• DataOps and automated testing of data pipelines.

Domain knowledge (preferred)

Experience in one or more of the following domains is an advantage:

• Information Security, including Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Banking or financial services.
• Agile/Scrum ways of working.
