We are looking for an experienced Application Resiliency Architect with a strong focus on application architecture and recovery.
This role goes beyond infrastructure or VM-level resiliency and focuses on defining end-to-end recovery models for critical Tier-1 applications.
Responsibilities
- Map and assess application dependencies across complex IT environments.
- Identify and challenge dependencies between applications, APIs, middleware, databases, messaging platforms, shared services, and legacy integrations, including environments with limited documentation.
- Analyze application flows, business transaction flows, and integration architectures.
- Define recovery groups, dependency domains, restoration sequencing, validation checkpoints, and recovery criteria for critical applications.
- Validate that applications are fully operational after recovery through business transaction validation, API testing, synthetic checks, and data consistency checks.
- Support resiliency initiatives across hybrid environments, including both on-premises and Azure-based application landscapes.
- Provide structure and leadership during discovery activities and guide the overall recovery approach.
- Support and guide teams responsible for detailed implementation activities.
Required Expertise
- Strong background in application architecture and recovery processes.
- Experience with:
- API gateways
- MQ
- ESB
- Mainframe integrations
- Hybrid application environments
- Solid understanding of user journeys, business transaction flows, and hybrid application traffic patterns.
- Understanding of dependencies related to connectivity, identity, middleware, and shared platform services.
- Senior-level capability to challenge assumptions and provide architectural leadership on resiliency and recovery approaches.
Important
This is not a standard infrastructure resiliency role. The focus is on bringing an application architecture perspective to resiliency and helping define a practical recovery model for the NDC environment.
