Job Mission
As a Data Platform DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and operating a scalable enterprise data platform within a modern cloud environment. You will ensure that the data platform is reliable, secure, and fully automated, enabling data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to work efficiently with data at scale.
You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, DevOps, and data infrastructure, taking ownership of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and platform operations. The environment is highly complex and globally distributed, requiring strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and modern DevOps practices to support mission-critical data workloads.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services
- Implement and manage infrastructure for data engineering, analytics, and BI workloads across multiple environments
- Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar tools
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Microsoft Fabric using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows
- Automate deployment processes using Fabric REST APIs, deployment pipelines, and integration tooling
- Manage platform environments across development, test, and production with structured release strategies
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and usage using observability tools and dashboards
- Implement alerting, logging, and incident response mechanisms across the data platform
- Optimize platform performance, capacity, and cost efficiency through proactive management
- Implement and enforce security controls, including RBAC, data protection, and compliance frameworks
- Configure and manage Microsoft Entra authentication, service principals, and managed identities
- Automate operational tasks and workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to improve platform usability and performance
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Education and Experience
Must Have
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or related Microsoft data platforms such as Synapse and Data Factory
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or similar
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, and SQL
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, encryption, and network security principles
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Fabric certifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacities, and deployment pipelines
- Knowledge of OneLake architecture, shortcuts, and data management strategies
- Experience with Fabric REST APIs and automation tooling
- Experience with Power BI administration and deployment best practices
- Background in multi-region or multi-cloud environments
- Experience with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
- Experience with real-time data processing or streaming architectures
- Experience with MLOps or AI integration within data platforms
