Solution architect – Data

The Solution Architect is responsible for the development and implementation of architecture solutions of functions within the Modern Data Platform (MDP). He will ensure that solutions align with enterprise architecture standards. Additionally, the Solution Architect may support or influence enterprise architecture from a solution perspective. 

Role and responsibilities:

• Provide vision, frameworks and technical Roadmap:
• Define the frameworks and technical roadmap for the Modern Data Platform.
• Determine the relevant building blocks for the architecture.
• Develop and Maintain Long-Term Vision on technical level:
• Inspire the data engineering team with new insights and course of actions adhering to standards/way for working/frameworks
• Create and maintain a long-term vision for the architecture of the relevant solution.
• Ensure alignment with the overall enterprise architecture related to the data landscape (such as scheduling, monitoring etc).

Establish Rules, Principles, and Guidelines:

• Formulate rules, principles, and guidelines pertaining to the development of solution architecture.
• Ensure adherence to established standards, guard rails and way of working
• Lead advisor for integration solutions
• Monitor the integration of applications on the respective platforms within the entire data landscape.

Modern Data Platform Overview and Improvement of Capabilities:

• Design a scalable and flexible Modern Data Platform to meet future technology needs.
• Enable data ingestion via existing (sFTP, APIs) and new (streaming, Azure Data Factory, …) technologies.
• Incorporate frameworks for data structuring/transformation capabilities (DBT) and data governance capabilities (lineage, catalog, …).

Collaboration with other departments:

• Strengthen collaboration within the Modern Platform team (RABBIT) and with data teams in improving fundamentals from ingestion to data publishing.
• Collaborate with data teams with the aim to enhance the maturity of data teams.
• Act as a facilitator for data teams to consume the features of the platform, guidelines, and cookbooks.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in solution architecture and development within a Data Platform environment.

Skills:

• Strong technical proficiency in data and reporting platforms.
• Experience in software development is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of enterprise architecture principles.
• Ability to create and maintain a long-term vision for solution architecture.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills.

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in defining and implementing solution architectures.
• Previous involvement in aligning solution architecture with enterprise standards.
• Knowledge of integration processes within complex data- and application landscapes.
• Adherence of solutions to established architecture frameworks.
• Successful integration of applications within the data landscape.
