IT Run in Control Engineer

Position

Robeco is looking for an IT Run in Control Engineer to improve the reliability and stability of our data processing and IT environment. You have strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement based on quantitative and qualitative analyses of the operating environment. You provide actual and relevant insights in Robeco’s operating environment to other IT experts and management.

Infrastructure, Corporate & Cloud Technology – Monitoring & Control

The Infrastructure, Corporate & Cloud Technology (ICCT) is responsible for ensuring stability, security, business continuity and reliability of Robeco’s data processing and IT environment. Within ICCT, the Monitoring & Control (M&C) team is responsible for the reliability of Robeco’s production application landscape. As part of this responsibility, M&C manages several ITIL-processes for Robeco internally as well as multiple third parties, including IT providers. M&C directs several suppliers, monitors the availability of the IT infrastructure and the timeliness of business-critical IT (batch) processes, informs stakeholders about disruptions or unavailability of systems and data processing, solves disruptions, fulfills requests and/or administrative actions on the application landscape; and directs for structural improvements on the IT environment.

Key responsibilities

As an IT RiC Engineer, your key responsibilities are:

  • Analyze and supervise incidents, requests and problems;
  • Inform stakeholders concerning their incidents and requests;
  • Involve necessary parties, internal and external while handling incidents, requests and problems;
  • Be an intermediary between Robeco and external parties while handling incidents, request and problem;
  • Guiding and supporting  the implementation of changes on the production environment;
  • As a team member M&C you are also available for other operational tasks.

Requirements

You are a highly motivated professional. You are a critical and creative thinker with strong analytical and investigative skills. You have superior problem-solving capabilities, are customer-focused, positive, and committed to excellence. You have a relevant education at Bachelor+ level and excellent communication skills. You are able to function in the team as well as autonomically and are able to switch between a bird’s eye view and go into detail when necessary while keeping in mind the human perspective of the actual work involved. Experience in IT Operations is obligatory,  you are able to understand business processes and the accompanying data.

You have 3 years experience in an operational IT environment, preferably within the asset management industry.

You also have:

  • Proficient level in Dutch and English (written and spoken);
  • Strong focus on supervising issues and tasks, without forgetting the processes depending on the issue and the people behind the processes;
  • Tenacious in guiding incidents and having tasks performed;
  • Strong attention to detail along with sharp analytical skills;
  • Process driven with a pragmatic style; is able to find the (correct) balance between rules and practicality, without loss of quality and compliance;
  • Eye for detail, but also keeps a focused eye on overview and consistency;
  • Focus and the capability to separate main and side issues, manages expectations, agrees on priorities and delivers on agreements;
  • Experience with ITIL, Agile, DevOps, Scrum and Lean.
