Data engineering bootcamp
LINKIT offers a unique opportunity to an exclusively selected group to expand their network and knowledge. We offer them a 8 weeks traineeship program with a job guarantee, including salary from day one, small groups, personalized approach and coaches, trained by top-notch engineers and a practical hands-on approach, interactive knowledge-sharing and real-life customers.
We all hear data, machine learning, real-time AI and how the world will be different. Data Engineers are crucial parts for this and formal trainings at universities lack the velocity to adjust to the market demands. LINKITs clients are eager to have Data Engineers, and LINKIT being a knowledge-driven IT sourcing partner with 20 years experience in creating, building and managing innovative IT solutions for top-500 organizations and governments could not shy away from this.
To be in line with the accelerating data engineering market, we created a modular defined educational program based on the latest next-gen technologies and insights. The first six weeks the participants will cover different big data concepts and increase their knowledge around the day-to-day work of a data engineer. Identify and understand different types of data stores (SQL, NoSQL, cache, queue, object storage, api's, ...) and create scalable, distributable pipelines to generate an added value output into a proper data store type fitting the business value.
The bootcamp will cover concepts of Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Warehousing, streaming and traditional API's - where data is used. It is crucial to know when and how to evaluate the benefit of building batch vs. streaming data pipelines and what tools to use
- Spark, Flink, Sqoop, NiFi
- how to schedule it (Airflow, Oozie, Luigi)
- where this will run (container concepts, k8s, Yarn, …)
- focus on AWS architectures and tools
- explain the importance of monitoring, logging and alerting to create resilient systems.
As you imagine, the focus will be on Scala as the primary language due to the nature of Scala and Flink, but also due to the principles that Akka and Play can add to it. However, due to the nature of Python being the main go-to-language for ML, it will also be used.
Some of our clients are already committed to onboard 1-n graduates from the course and to elaborate on the material. After eight weeks, the bootcamp’s participants would be available 36hs/week to be sourced at a fixed rate for one year.
