Lead Java Developer & Analyst

Lead the FCM team through analyzing business requirements and delivering Spring Boot/Kafka applications

The core of this new organization is business platforms, consisting of product teams organized around business processes, whereby business and IT are together end-to-end responsible for the digital products and services that support those business processes. To empower this ambition a large program has been started this year to enable our digital transformation.

What are you going to do

During the set up and definition of the aforementioned program to enable our digital transformation, a clear vision and roadmap for Flight planning & assignment was defined. The objective is a modernized and flexible crew planning & assignment (P&A) landscape to improve process efficiency, crew utilization & satisfaction, become more data-driven, and

ensure business continuity. You will be a Software Engineer Leader part of a broader team with the main goal to modernize FCM (Flight Crew Manifest) consisting of tech, product and business roles. In particular, you will gather business and technical requirements, document the current FCM

application and work with other engineers to build the future FCM application. Therefore, you will be a critical factor in executing our modernization roadmap, together with the other product teams in our Data & Technology organization.

The key result areas of the Software Engineer Leader are:

· Lead the team of software engineers

· Map and document the existing planning and assignment systems, including interface specifications, integrations, etc.

· Work with other engineers to design and develop temporary P&A interfaces and solutions in the infrastructure for the transition phase to ensure operational continuity

· Provide technical insights and work in tandem with business analysts, product managers, and engineers to ensure FCM project goals are met

· Support the transition towards a modernized FCM architecture by leveraging your technical expertise

· Act in such a manner as to contribute to the desired culture both within the platform and in interaction with the business

Your profile

• You have experience with leading teams of software engineers in complex enterprise environments

• You are experienced in gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into technical specifications and working with engineers to implement these -using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot & Kafka

• You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues effectively

• You are an excellent communicator, able to articulate technical information to nontechnical stakeholders

• Preferably, you possess a deep understanding of flight planning & assignment systems within the aviation industry or similar complex operational environments

• You are passionate about digital innovation

• You are able to work onsite at least 1 day per week.
