Because of the rapidly changing digital environment KLM wants to become the most data & technology driven airline in the world.
Changing our way of working, modernizing our technology stack and architecture and the right positioning of the people in this Data & Technology organization is key in achieving this ambition.
The core of this new organization are business platforms, consisting of product teams organized around business processes, whereby business and IT are together end-to-end responsible for the digital products and services that support those business processes.
To empower this ambition a large program has been started this year to enable our digital transformation.
What are you going to do
During the set up and definition of the aforementioned program to enable our digital transformation, a clear vision and roadmap is defined for one of our key applications, called CHIP.
CHIP is one of our key digital products used daily at our Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Hub to plan and execute our processes. You will be the product owner for one of our product teams working on the modernization of this application. In particular, you will be the product owner of the day of operations product team. Therefore, you will be a critical factor in executing our modernization roadmap, together with the other product teams.
CHIP is aquired from one of our vendors, and implemented at KLM. Your new team ensures our day to day operation can continue and is empowered through the modelling, implementation of business rules and applying changes to the product to drive operational excellence.
Your focus will be on assuring our business continuity in the midst of the changes that will take place. You will interact with multiple internal (and external) stakeholders, a vendor and other product owners.
The key result areas of the Product owner are:
- Contribute to strategy execution by cooperating with the Director of Product and a Senior Product Owner on defining a product roadmap based on the overall KLM & platform strategy.
- Delivering value by balancing overarching KLM needs, business needs, user needs, technical feasibility, and the changes implied by the technical/business modernization that will take place.
- Manages the Product Backlog and prioritizes through clearly quantified business values
- Supports in changing business processes, tools, and employee behavior when needed. Ensures promotion of the product and communication to users.
- Ensures the use of data by consumers in line with the Data Principles & Policy and raises Data Management Awareness
- Acts in such a manner as to contribute to the desired culture both within the platform and in interaction with the business
Your profile
- We are looking for a Product owner who has experience with vendor products and/or has experience with vendor management
- You actively seek and push to implement new opportunities for value creation for your business unit, KLM, and society
- You have experience in defining a product roadmap based on a predefined vision
- You effectively manage complex situations within a product team and with product stakeholders
- Stakeholders acknowledge you as a product expert
- You get excited about developing yourself in the field of Product Management
- You have preferably obtained your PSPO-1 or an other related product owner certificate
- You have minimal 2 years of Product Owner experience in a complex environment.
- Passionate about Digital innovation
- Passionate about users, user needs, adoption and love to measure this by using metrics
- You are capable to inspire, motivate, coach team members to adapt to the new organizational set-up and towards the new way of working
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
